The "Run Whatcha Brung" car races entertained a packed grandstand. This 4-cylinder class started the event off. Six and 8-cylinder entries followed, including a race with kitchen appliances strapped to their roofs.

Three brothers who grew up visiting Webster and hunted for the Golden Spike when they were in elementary school found the Golden Spike at 11:30 a.m. after just 4 clues were posted at the Gandy Dancer Bookstore. The two overall winners of the Webster Education Foundation 5K Run/Walk: were Will Gerber and Kristin Schmitt.
Karen Rogers, 71, won the gold medal for her age group in the WEF 5K race. Her goal is to run a 1/2 marathon, 10K or 5K in each of Wisconsin's 72 counties. Burnett County was #43.
